Resin Repair
Many timber structures can be repaired in-situ by means of reinforcement rods and resin.
This is particularly useful in old buildings where the decay is in the ends of large dimensional timbers.
The damaged ends are cut away and holes drilled to accept glass fibre rods. New timbers are similarly drilled and the two pieced together. Any cavities are filled with resin bonding.
Alternatively, after inserting rods into cut off section of beam, Epoxy resin can be poured into shuttering to form a replacement beam end.
